James Brownhill Memorial Fund

Dark Peak Gems

A new book of walks in the Hope & Edale Valleys.

All the walks touch the original route of a 22 ¾ mile walk, the James Brownhill Challenge, completed by the family and friends of James Brownhill in 2012. It was a day to remember James who died in a climbing accident with his climbing partner David on the Mont Blanc Massif in 2011.

2021 is 10 years since James' accident so we feel this book will continue to keep James' name and spirit alive.

The profits will go into the James Brownhill Memorial Fund (JBMF) to provide bursaries for climbing courses.

Please follow the facebook link to see more photos, by walk.

Event details are available on the Facebook page.

As a result of the very generous donations and sponsorship monies received by the JBMF we can proudly announce that the original intention of providing bursaries for a 5 year period has been quickly met and now the fund will provide bursaries for

22 3/4 Years

To match the age of James when he died.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to and supported the fund in a wide variety of ways. We know James lives in ALL your hearts.
